Philadelphia Lone Star FC Earns Back-to-Back Road Wins in New Jersey
Philadelphia Lone Star FC enjoyed a perfect weekend on the road in New Jersey, as both the First Team and U23s claimed hard-fought 2-1 victories in their respective Matchweek 2 fixtures.
After a challenging opening weekend that saw the First Team fall 2-1 at home and the U23s settle for a 1-1 draw, the club responded with resilience, character, and clinical finishing to collect three crucial points each away from home.
First Team Bounce Back with Statement Win
The First Team, known as the Stars, set the tone on Saturday with a disciplined 2-1 victory over SFC 1924.
Philadelphia Lone Star took control of the match with goals from Eugene Dennis (26′) and Cristhian Herrera (40′), establishing a strong first-half lead.
The match saw late drama in stoppage time, as Moussa Cone was shown a red card in the 90+6 minute for serious foul play, reducing the Stars to ten men. Moments later, Daniel Sydor (90+8′) pulled one back for SFC 1924, but Philadelphia Lone Star held on under pressure to secure all three points.
The result marks an important response following their narrow 2-1 defeat in Matchweek 1, showing improved cohesion and composure in key moments.

Head Coach Fatoma Turay praised his team’s mentality:
“The response from the players was exactly what we needed. After last week, we challenged ourselves to be more focused and disciplined, and the players delivered. It’s a strong team performance and an important step forward.”
U23s Show Character in Comeback Victory
On Sunday, the U23 side — the Shooting Stars — displayed tremendous resilience, coming from behind to defeat NJ Santos FC Rush 2-1.
After conceding early through Anthony Ibarra (8′), the Shooting Stars regrouped quickly. Mouhcine Salim (17′) equalized to bring the game level before halftime, and Mohamed Kamara (76′) completed the comeback with a decisive second-half strike.
The win highlights the group’s growth after their 1-1 draw in the season opener and underscores their fighting spirit on the road.

Head Coach Mitchell Torh reflected on the performance:
“I’m proud of the character the team showed. Going down early away from home can be difficult, but the players stayed composed and believed in themselves. This is a big result for our development and confidence moving forward.”
Positive Momentum Building
With both teams now registering their first wins of the season, Philadelphia Lone Star FC builds early momentum across both squads. The weekend showcased not only attacking quality but also resilience — a key foundation for the long season ahead.
