Philadelphia Lone Star Women Set for Return in UPSL Women League for Spring 2026

Philadelphia Lone Star FC is proud to announce the return of its women’s program, with Philadelphia Lone Star Women set to compete in the UPSL Women League for the upcoming Spring 2026 season.

The relaunch marks an exciting new chapter for the club’s women’s side, which previously competed in the Women’s Premier Soccer League. In their inaugural 2019 campaign, Philadelphia Lone Star Women enjoyed immediate success, finishing as Division Runners-Up and Conference Playoff Runners-Up, establishing themselves as a rising force in the region.

Following the cancellation of the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the team returned to action in 2021 before entering a brief hiatus. Now, with a renewed vision and structure, the club is bringing back the women’s program with a long-term commitment to development and competitive excellence.

The UPSL Women League, launched in 2021, has rapidly grown into one of the top pre-professional platforms in the country, providing pathways for collegiate, post-collegiate, and aspiring professional players. The Spring season will run from mid-May through late June, followed by conference, regional, and national playoffs in July.

Club President and CEO Paul Konneh expressed his enthusiasm about the program’s return:

“We are excited to bring back Philadelphia Lone Star Women and provide a strong platform for female players in our community to compete, develop, and showcase their talent. Our previous success in the WPSL demonstrated the potential within our program, and this new chapter in the UPSL Women League reflects our commitment to growing the women’s game. We are building something sustainable and impactful, and we look forward to what lies ahead.”

As preparations begin for the 2026 campaign, the club will soon announce its coaching staff, laying the foundation for a competitive and professionally run environment. Player tryouts are expected to take place in the coming weeks, with further details to be released soon.

The return of Philadelphia Lone Star Women reinforces the club’s mission of expanding opportunities across all levels of the game while continuing to serve as a pillar of soccer development in the Philadelphia community.
