Philadelphia Lone Star FC Appoints Samuel Cole as Head Coach of Women’s Team

Philadelphia Lone Star FC is pleased to announce the appointment of Samuel Cole as Head Coach of Philadelphia Lone Star Women, ahead of the club’s return to competition in the UPSL Women League for the Spring 2026 season.

Cole takes charge of the women’s program at an exciting time for the club, following the recent announcement of its relaunch and entry into the UPSL Women League.

A former standout player at Neumann University, Cole helped lead the Knights to two CSAC Championships and two NCAA Tournament appearances, including a run to the Sweet Sixteen.

His coaching experience spans both youth and high school levels, currently serving as Head Coach of an Under-16 boys team at Inter Philly. He is also the founder of the Gifted Ballers soccer program and previously served as head coach of the girls’ team at Cristo Rey High School.

Cole also has a strong history within Philadelphia Lone Star FC, having coached the club’s Under-19 team (Young Stars) from 2016 to 2018. During his tenure, he led the team to the Inter-County Youth Soccer League U19 Championship in 2016, further demonstrating his ability to develop and lead competitive squads.

Speaking on his appointment, Cole said:

“I’m truly honored to take on the role of head coach for this women’s program. This is an exciting opportunity to build something meaningful both on and off the field.”

Chairman of the Board of Directors Stephen Lloyd Togba welcomed the appointment:

“Samuel brings a strong understanding of the club’s culture and a proven track record in player development. His experience, leadership, and connection to the Philadelphia Lone Star pathway make him the ideal choice to lead our women’s program into this new chapter.”

With preparations underway for the Spring 2026 season, further details regarding player tryouts, staff appointments, and preseason plans will be announced in the coming weeks.

The appointment of Samuel Cole marks another important step as Philadelphia Lone Star FC continues to expand opportunities across all levels of the game and build a competitive environment for the return of Philadelphia Lone Star Women.
