Philadelphia Lone Star FC Appoints Sal Minor as Associate Head Coach of Women’s Team
Philadelphia Lone Star FC is pleased to announce the appointment of Sal Minor as Associate Head Coach of Philadelphia Lone Star Women, ahead of the club’s return to competition in the UPSL Women League for the Spring 2026 season.
Minor joins the women’s program while continuing his role as Head Women’s Soccer Coach at Lincoln University. Since taking over the program, he has led a significant turnaround, highlighted by securing the team’s first victory since 2019, achieving the program’s first-ever 2–0 start, and earning a result against Division I opponent Delaware State University during the 2024–2025 season.
A proven leader and developer of talent, Minor brings extensive experience across youth, high school, collegiate, and semi-professional levels. He also has a strong connection to Philadelphia Lone Star FC, having previously served as an assistant coach and goalkeeper coach with the club’s first team.
In his role as Associate Head Coach, Minor will work closely alongside Head Coach Samuel Cole in building and leading the women’s program as it enters a new chapter.
Speaking on his appointment, Minor said:
“I’m truly honored and excited to step into this role during this important relaunch of the club. I’m proud to be part of the direction the program is heading and grateful for the opportunity to contribute to its continued growth and evolution.
I want to sincerely thank Head Coach Sam for his trust and leadership, as well as Club President Paul for his support in helping make this opportunity possible. I look forward to building on the foundation that’s being established and helping elevate the club to new levels of success both on and off the field.”
Head Coach Samuel Cole welcomed the appointment:
“Minor is someone who understands the game, understands player development, and understands what this club represents. His experience and leadership will be a valuable addition as we continue building this women’s program with clear purpose and ambition.”
Minor’s appointment reflects the club’s continued commitment to elite player development, strong leadership, and a culture built on accountability and growth.
Further details regarding player tryouts, additional staff appointments, and preseason preparations will be announced in the coming weeks.
