Philadelphia Lone Star FC is proud to announce that forward Aboubacar Camara has signed a professional contract with Portland Hearts of Pine, who compete in USL League One.

Camara becomes the latest player from the club’s Path2Pro pipeline to make the jump into the professional ranks.

The dynamic forward joined Philadelphia Lone Star’s First Team, known as the Stars, in 2021 and competed with the club in USL League Two. During his time with the club, Camara made 25 appearances and scored 12 goals, quickly establishing himself as a key attacking presence.

His performances with the Stars helped continue his impressive development journey, which included a standout collegiate career across several major NCAA programs.

Camara began his college career at University of Louisville in 2020, where he made an immediate impact and was named to the ACC All-Freshman Team. Over three seasons with the Cardinals, he scored 25 goals and recorded four assists in 48 appearances, leading the team in scoring each season and finishing 8th in the program’s all-time scoring records.

His achievements at Louisville included All-ACC First Team honors in 2021 and All-ACC Second Team recognition in 2022, further establishing him as one of the conference’s most dangerous attacking players.

For his senior season, Camara transferred to University of Kentucky where he scored 3 goals and recorded two assists in 20 appearances, before concluding his collegiate career as a graduate student at Pennsylvania State University. At Penn State, he continued his strong attacking form, scoring five goals in 11 appearances.
